When Country Music singer song writer Deborah Allen returned to Memphis during Elvis week to promote her new release 'Amazing Graceland' she didn't expect to receive the greeting that she and her film crew got as they were out driving around looking for a place to film, only to have the Memphis Police swam in on them as if they were terrorist.
Apparently Deborah and her Country Music video film crew had wandered into an area heavily protected by Homeland Security and were in risk of violating the Patriot Act, but after a bit of questioning by the Memphis officers, it was evident that Deborah and her crew posed no threat and were allowed to go.
It was an experience that I can look back on and joke about, even the part where at the end I invited the officers to my concert September 10th at Bartlette Performing Arts Center in Memphis.
